To each their own though.
Sticking with a weak build and writing off improvements with 'it works' and 'to each their own' is definitely the path to success.

Ok star, if you genuinely want help, here's what's wrong with this:

1: Flare is a weak skill that you use to fill space when the recharge times on your other skills suck. It's fairly easy to make a build with more robust skills with no downtime.

2: Breath of fire and firestorm are both exceedingly bad skills. They have tiny AoEs, and huge recharges. If you want a ticking AoE, take searing heat. You shouldn't need more than one, as it will cause scatter, making more than one of them a lost cause. The exception to this is a savannah heat build, which should utilize a snare to make sure everything cooks nicely in all the AoE.

3. Fire attunement. Bring it. It's by far the best energy management available

4. Ether prism is a meh skill. Its only real use is that you can use the energy from it to power out skills from a secondary...like monk. If you're running all elementalist skills, an attunement and glyph of lesser energy is enough (or attunement and another elite energy management spell, like mind blast or elemental attunement).

So that's what sucks in there.

I wasnt actually posting it to get feedback, I was posting it as an example of another build to run.

First off Ensign. If it is such a weak build, then I wouldnt be able to run it anywhere... And I can.. I have no problems playing with my build. To you it is weak, to me it works. And in saying that, doesnt make it less effective.

Dr.Strangelove. Ether prism is fantastic, I never run out of energy, I never have to worry about energy management and I dont have to use 2 skill slots to get the same effect. Id rather use my elite for ether prism then fill up 2 skill slots trying to manage my energy. I like this skill, it works for me, I dont have to sit and recharge after every group, and if some retard aggros too much I know I can actually be a usefull member of the team by not having to sit and recharge ....

You are right flare isnt the best skill out there, I dont just use it while waiting for recharge times. I also use it if the guy Im attacking is down at say 1/4 life.. Im not about to cast a higher costing skill or aoe to kill it. Much easier to flare it twice and get it done.

Breath of fire is an awesome skill. It has low energy cost, yes high recharge, but it works in my never ending energy build, and I can wait that whole 30 seconds of recharge by using other skills. Firestorm, I threw in there one day, I actually should change that one as I barely use it. Searing heat is actually an AOE that I would usually use. I appreciate you bringing that to my attention.

BTW read my other posts... both of you. Esp the part about how I think playing with skills and builds is one of the best parts of the game. And the fact that everyone plays classes differently ... You may like lots of AOE builds, guess what I dont.. So I dont play with a lot of AOE, which is why I dont run cookie cutter builds that I steal off of other people.

Have a great weekend guys..

PvE is easy. A blank skillbar and AI can beat most of PvE

Quote:

Ehh, no. Mind Blast has the same end result without being quite so clunky

Quote:
Breath of fire is an awesome skill.
No, it really isn't.
Ward Against Melee is an awesome skill.
Rodgort's Invocation is an awesome skill.
Breath of Fire is a puny AoE, long-recharge, waste of space skill.

When people come to forums, they're looking for good advice.
A Mind Blaster running wards and Rodgort's is good advice.
A sub-par Fire ele wasting his time on Prism and Flare isn't.
Sure, it may work for you, in PvE.
And you can chop down a mighty tree with a herring.
But... it's better if you use an axe. And here, I hope that we give people axes, not herrings.

yep im talkin PVE.
And like I said before, though Im sure it will never sink into some people's heads, everyone plays differently, everyone has different opinions, and everyone is not always going to use the same setup.

BTW... If you ever want to run a blank skill bar and beat the game... make sure you let me know, Id like to watch.

If I wanted an example of a bad build, I'd go randomly pick out 7 skills+rez sig. Here's the result:

My numbers (randomly generated): 9, 15, 17, 20, 23, 24, 33.

Corresponding to the skills (when you go on wiki and count the nth fire skill):
Fireball
Immolate
Lava Arrows
Lava Font
Meteor Shower
Mind Blast
Teinai's Heat

Add on rez sig for the last skill for good balance.

Conclusion? An example of another build to run that's better than your build.

I know, I'm a h4xx0r in random number generating. Blame random.org, not me.

P.S. I've beaten dungeons (well, one just to get the screenshot) with 3 healing breeze WoH monks with rebirth and a bunch of stupid henchies. That doesn't make those builds good though.

and if you dotn care to talk to many players, its probably cuz u use baed builds, and you get annoyed when your told they suck

Well, let's see what the fuss is about. Now that I made the build better visable, analyzation is easier. That's a start. First, your Energy managment elite. The use of it over say, an attunement is questionable. Mind blast and fire attunement would do a better job in the end. That, I imagine you have heard already, so I'll keep moving. The biggest problems with BoF and FS is that they share the same fatal flaw. You can walk away from them.

Why use flare when Mind blast is doing a better job with the same cast time?

[skill=big]Mind Blast[/skill]

I like Flesh of my flesh,Energy Blast, and immolate is ok. RI for immolate would be better, or even a MoR hex/Fire build to cause burning to large groups. Mind blast,Glowing Gaze,MoR,RI,Energy Blast,Fire attunement,MS,FoMF- that would be a solid PvE fire ele. MS too slow, change it for whatever you wish, though MS has more benefits in PvE than most of the fire line. Don't like the MoR hex, swap for the glyph of immolation.

In any event, though arrogance permiates the forum populace and some do think they are king/queen knowitalls, they have a point in that your build works but could be dramaticly improved upon.

Agreed the build works but it could use some work. I would say drop Fire storm for some high dmg skill. Like [skill]Fireball[/skill]

the true definition of a nub: someone who's so bad at the game that they actually think they are good. i'll never understand how complete nubs grow their insane superiority complexes.

Wouldn't say I know everything about everything, but I know enough about this game to know that you're shit, and enough about people to know that your arrogance is blinding you to just how shit you are. It's a sad combination where not only are you terrible, but are doomed to always be terrible because you can't even take the first step towards getting better.

There's a lot of laughter in this thread. We're not laughing with you.

Yeah, Alex has got it.

I don't use Aura of Resto at all, only take Glyph with players. Don't take monks with me when hero and hench, unless a smite monk, because I use Sab's N/Rit healing build, which combined with a party support paragon hero is more than enough healing. Look Ma! No monks!

Don't take any attunements neither, because I always have the paragon hero using the party support build that feeds me plenty of extra energy. Which is good because Attunement is just another enchantment, and enchantments get stripped. I hate enchantments.

Side Note: Mobs like to beat up on your monks. But if you don't have any monks, they tend to ignore a N/Rit who is not attacking them, and the paragon can take care of himself!
